Marriage. Wot To Organise First.

Featured Replies

My gal and I are now engaged.

Wedding possibly June - July in Auckland, NZ..

Guests from OZ, Philippines and US.

Rather far apart on the organising of it all.

My way..............

No 1, Buy dress

No 2, Book honeymoon

No 3, Sort out reception.

No 4, The ceremony.

She does NOT agree.

I reckon the above is the most logical.

Any thoughts etc welcomed.

congratulations to you both :D

My opinion you should;

1) Book venue/date of ceremony

2) Book venue of reception

3) Order & send out invites

4) Book Honeymoon

5) Buy/order Dress/grooms outfit

No need for a dress until the whole things is booked & you have some people coming :)

Congrats to both of you.

I think Boo is right. If you've got people coming from overseas, they need a definite date to book their flights....and accomodation.

Or....... wander down to the Births, Deaths, and Marriages office, do the paperwork/ceremony, then send out the invites for a huge party.

Have you been fitted for the dress yet?

Congrats Pete - well done. (And no, I'm not going to make any comments about how relieved the local sheep are.)

The traditional sceadugengan form of wedlock is... "you want to get married, you organise the bloody thing".

^Traditional? Just how many wives have you had... or, dare I ask, do you have?

Sailors are said to have one in every port - sounds to me like you've got one in every village. :)

congrats!

and Id listen to Boo :)

(she is after all a woman. there would be so much more peace in the world if men would listen and do as we say :D )

Congrats ..... :)

No one has mentioned a prenuptial agreement.......

below are just a few components of a reasonable document.....

Section 3 - Whenever my friends and I get together for a girl's night out, I will tell them that

you are better hung than a large-balled Himalayan yak, and an elephant would jealous of your genitalia.

Section 3.01 I shall mention often your sexual prowess and longevity in the bedroom.

Section 4 - After sex (which I will NEVER refer to as 'making love'), I will not expect you to cuddle me for hours till your arm goes dead.

Nor will I let my hair annoyingly get in your face.

Section 4.01 I will never, ever give your penis a 'cute' nickname.

Section 5 - In bed, I will be as keen as mustard to try any novel sexual position you fancy. Especially the ones where I do all the work and you just lie there grinning.

Section 5.01 I will ruthlessly interrogate my attractive female friends and inform you if any of them have the slightest bi-sexual tendencies. Then I'll invite them around for dinner.

and hide their car keys so they have to stay.

Section 5.02 I promise to work out at the gym for two hours a day in order to keep my body sexually desirable to you, even though your intake of beer may cause

your gut to swell to proportions of a nine-month pregnancy.

Section 5.03 I promise never to bring up your hair loss and the fact that a baby's butt and/or honeydew melon is somewhat similar.

Section 5.04 I promise to shave every possible inch of my body, and will always love your weekend beard...

If you go threw with this have a divorce lawyer on retainer. :)

Marriage? I'd plan an escape route first. :)

Oh, and put aside a nest egg where it can't be found to pay for your get-away. :D

1. Decide on what brand of beer and how many for the stag party.

2. Leave the rest up to her.

Another very sensible option.

I know there is alot of well intentioned jest going on here.....I will point out that I have met the soon-to-be Mrs Z, and she is lovely. I think the happy couple will remain so for a long time.

Obviously lacking in basic common sense if she finds Zpete a desirable mate though Harcourt. :)

Lotta jest.......lol

Thank GAWD, my gal who wants to be anon, cannot get into BEDLAM....... PMPL.

Wondering, anybody know how many TVers have hooked up after meeting in TV?

Imagine, I forgot the STAG NITE.

Harcourts backyard would be good...... hehehe.

Any more members in Auckland?

Some suggestions are thoughtful.

BTW, she is NOT THAI and her momma does not have a buffalo, sick or otherwise.

Ta, sofar.........

All the best to you and your soon to be... :)

Just a few marriage quotes......

It means you're in the wrong house, that's what it means." -Henny Youngman

She has family who may come, up to her to set date.

Some as far away as New York

Its her wedding after all.

Yeah, that makes me wonder what kind of a gal would fall for a very strange guy like him?

She's lovely (so is he actually), but perhaps she's odd too? :D

As you are approaching that most wonderful date with destiny the temptation

Is for one partner to try and change the other…in ways both big and small….

Nights out with friends…..Advice and communication from friends can slowly

become taboo…..I am sure you have chosen wisely though….. I'm convinced

if two people are totally honest, they can be happily married. :)

Pity you have never met her face to face.

Great cook, gets fab flavours woteva she cooks.

Will not comment on nochturnal activities, will not demean her, love her too much.

BTW, she is NOT THAI and her momma does not have a buffalo, sick or otherwise.

Does that mean that you don't want to have a sick buffalo as wedding gift?
