This is actually quite a way off because we haven't even got our settlement visa yet - but for future reference, will my wife be able get a british passport (after two years or so) so that it will be easier to travel to other countries?

Thanks for the link.  Does anyone by any chance know what the thai law is on their citizens naturalising into other countries?  Do the have to lose their thai nationality?

Three years for A UK Passport. Once you get her to the UK you can apply to the relevant countries consulate for a visa for your wife.. I did this with my wife and had no problems. Example- Spain, Germany, Turkey etc. Not like this end.
