LOS ANGELES (BNO NEWS) -- 'Mission Impossible' actor Peter Graves was found dead at his Los Angeles home on Sunday, officials said. He was 83.

Graves, who was best known for his role on TV's "Mission: Impossible" and "Airplane!", was found dead at his home in Pacific Palisades, a district within the City of Los Angeles, at 3.40 p.m. local time.

A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department said Graves died of natural causes. "No foul play is suspected," she said.

When you get past 80 your days are numbered. Peter Graves had a pretty good run at life.

Although I thought Mission Impossible was a stupid movie with a terrible script, the acting was okay.

Although I thought Mission Impossible was a stupid movie with a terrible script, the acting was okay.

He wasn't in the movie, he was the star of the original tv series from which the films originated.

Older Australians may remember him in Whiplash, an Australian television series filmed in 1959-60. Tthe series was first broadcast September 1960 and had opening titles featuring the Australian locale and terrain and a dozen wild kangaroos as a Cobb & Co stage passed pulled by a team of five horses driven by Cobb himself.

Set in the 1860s, the series was a western, filmed in Australia, and stared Peter Graves as "Christopher Cobb". The series was loosely based on the life of Freeman Cobb, who was the genuine founder of Australia's first stagecoach line Cobb and Co.

Peter Graves, in his character of Christopher Cobb, did not carry a pistol and often used a bullwhip to settle disputes.

I always felt comforted when I saw Peter Graves come on the telly with Mission: Impossible...there were many spin offs; would we feel the same if advised of the passing of Mr. T?

sooo... what's the relation between this news item and Thailand ?

Shush, Don't wake up the mods. :)

Not Thailand related, closed!!

Actually, since it's in The Pub we take a much lighter view of the 'Thailand related' rule.

I have fond memories of MI from long ago, must download some of the old episodes.

when I said 'Mr. T' I meant the menacing negro with the gold chains from 'The A Team' and not the subject of present street activity in Bangkok...

Thanks for clarifying which Mr. T you were referring to.

Actually, I never cared for "Mission Impossible", but Graves was a good actor and I enjoyed him very much in the movies he made.
