The Swiss

Featured Replies

Already four times now I find ouw deli shop closed around 1.30.. what times is he open??

Where's the shop? I need to check it out when I get home from overseas :)

Chiang rai Deli is supposed to open 1pm, although quite a limited stock range.

Try the other good deli which is behind the Da Vinci restaurant (opposite the T-junction near the bus station), go down the soy to the right of Da Vinci. Good range of deli grub in there. I think is is run by the dutchman of Ayes. I like the Hot Mango chutney, not too spicy, and same as Sharwoods in UK. Good choice of Cheeses, cold meats and wine.

.The Swiss Deli (officially 'Chiangrai Deli') is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

It happens seldom that it is closed for other reasons and when, then mostly notice is

given on forehand. That might have been the problem Jantje! Give me a call next time and we'll

have a Weihenstephaner together there.

As Lannaman already pointed out: it opens 1 PM and closes officially around 8 PM.

Coming out of the post office you walk to the left and after hundred meters you will find

the Wat Klang Wiang at your right. It is at the crossing with the traffic lights.

Opposite you see the the restaurant Ban Klang Wiang, famous for Swedish style 'plankstek'

and many people consider their pizza's to be among the best in town.

Less than ten meters from the other corner you will see the sign of the deli.

If you would come out of the police station you would have to turn to the right and walk

after twohundred meters, then corner to the left and you are there (Welcome back Garry!).

Lannaman is also very much right in lauding the deli at the end of the soi next to

the Italian restaurant Da Vinci and the sportswear shop (the one opposite Adidas).

It's amazingly surprising, on the verge of incredible, what Dutch expertise offers us here.

Limbo :)

Some pictures of the deli (as noticed before rather famous among others for its french fries):
