With all the political and controversial subjects now being discussed in OTB, has Bedlam become irrelevant and silly?

Is it now like a little club where sycophancy is the overriding sentiment expressed, and posters compete to present the most inane new game for everyone to post predictable responses?

Is it a coincidence that most of the more interesting and intelligent posters are seen in this part of the forum less and less?

Am I just a nasty old bastard who talks out of his backside and should go somewhere else if I don't like it?

Nah, its just been quiet the past few days is all Old croc. If you aren't satisfied with the topics in bedlam of late, why not start one that does suit you?

(Actually, I'm with Humph. Apart from the Phuket s/forum, I rarely visit s/forums other than Bedlam - although cars and the tech ones get the occasional lurk. General? Perhaps once in a very deep blue Moon.)

To the poster who (predictably perhaps) suggested I should post something more interesting myself, I guess that isn't an easy thing to do. It's either talking about the world's big events in OTB or prattling in Bedlam.

I really don't know what Bedlam is supposed to be these days, hence my questioning of it's function, and where it fits, in a roundabout way.

Croc, I was pleased to see you make a second post as I thought your original,l whilst having some valid points, went a little too far in it's criticism.

Bedlam is only what we make it and it's topics will vary as posters come and go, this is very often seasonal probably due to migratory nature of most of us and our other commitments.

Instead of just knocking it perhaps we can put our collective heads together and offer some possible positive ideas on how to improve satisfaction levels within these padded walls.

I have often wondered how many in general actually know about Bedlam ?

Does it need a publicity drive, or a lower the post count to gain entry ?

Think it over and perhaps run a new poll along these lines, you along with many in here, have much to offer, let's not waste our wit and wisdom,let's use it creatively.

Bedlam has evolved into the beast that it is, I love it! Although I have not been on tv much of late, Bedlam will always be the forum that I pop into to see what's happening.

Dearest Croc, Ping, Moss and other devoted followers of Bedlam, I was merely trying to offer suggestions to the original post that perhaps Bedlam has lost a little something since the advent of "Outside the Box". I thought it might stimulate some creative discourse and at least get a few other suggestions as to how to improve these padded walls.

Looking at the above posts, and the lack of interest in this thread, I can only assume that all are satisfied in retaining the status quo.

To me the advantage of Bedlam is you can post just about anything you want within reason and it doesn't have to relate to Thailand. I didn't vote because I haven't contributed much to those topics listed. The hot women photos don't really interest me because I have my own lovelies to admire. Anything else is superficial. Maybe I'm just getting old... or jaded.

1. Down the list. It was a sarcastic social commentry of mine and probably the forrunner for this thread. I included it as one of the crappy threads Bedlam has descended to.

2. This wasn't a serious poll, and therefore didn't include everything. It was an attempt to point out that Bedlam seemed to have become about silly games and sillier threads about signs, songs, Utube, urinals, etc. Sorry no one got it.

3. I was never a Fireman, but had the unfortunate experience to meet the one in question. Our relationship became very terse and was played out on this very forum. (at least Bedlam was interesting for some at that time ) He is long banned and spends most of his time spitting venom at all and sundry on another forum

Terry57. He used to call me all sorts of insulting names based on my nik so, I made up the name Hoser for him.

It's based on a Canadian term for low class people, and it also fitted with his occupation. I'm glad it stuck and I know it really annoys him at times.

I think he has a spare nik under that name on this forum.
