Round The World Tickets

Featured Replies

I want to buy such a ticket going east. Can anyone recommend an agent which might be good - or even specialize - at this sort of ticket/fare/planning? Preferably one in Chaingmai but in Bangkok is also ok.

I would also be interested in knowing where you could buy a round the world ticket leaving from either Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur, I have emailed STA travel before and as we are leaving from Asia and not the UK they could not help :) If anyone knows of any sites or places (i live in Samui) please PM me.

they might be able to help.

I have done around the world a few times. But never bought a full ticket...just picked them up as I went along. Unless you have a very specific plan, the flexibility is great. Sometimes you find out about some incredible train rides...or boat rides...or even cheap tickets that don't show up on the internet. Sometimes you do get stuck with a higher airfare, but overall, I found the flexibility to be great. On one trip, due to family health issues, I had to rush back to the US. Continued my travels 6 months later.

You might want to check out lonelyplanet.com. I do believe they have a forum specifically for people planning to do this....bootsnall.com is another good one.
