1 Year Multy Entry Non-imm B Visa And Work Permit

Featured Replies

Hello Thaivisa friends,

I have a crazy situation here. I have 1 year multy entry Non-Imm B visa (issued in my home country) and 1 year work permit. My 90 day stamp expire tomorrow. I just contact Liam Legal to check what documents I need and from where to get the other 90 days.

They told me that I need to leave the country to get my 90 days, because my 1 year visa is issued in my home country. This is insane, I already got the work permit and both laws contridict each other - labour law - I must not leave Thailand, immigration law says I have to leave Thailand. I am currently in Pattaya, and because this is the peak day of Songkran I cant check in the immigration office!

Any advice what to do now?

Kind regards

Kal

Hi Kalseo, sorry to tell you that you have to do a "visa run" here. They will stamp you another 90 days at the border. After that you should apply for a 1 year permission to stay at your immigration office.

Labour has nothing to do with your stay in the country, that is immigrations department and you have to leave the country every 90 days.

You can ask for an extension of stay for 1 year from immigration, but you are now probably to late to get all the documents in order for an extension of stay. Best is to make a border run and you will get a new 90 days permission to stay. During the last 30 days of the new permission to stay you can ask for a 1 year extension of stay from immigration, if you qualify and submit all the right paperwork.

If you qualify for one year extension of stay (not all jobs/companies will meet the requirements) you should do so during the last 30 days of your 90 day permitted to stay. Otherwise you must exit/return every 90 days or less.

HAHA! Welcome to our world!

It's always interesting to see a newbie's first reaction to the CRAZY world of immigration law, regardless of country.

Most of us are used to these issues by now, but it is refreshing to see someone experiencing it for the first time to remind us how crazy the system really is.

By the way, with minor variances, it is like this in every country all over the world.

I just heard that the immigration department is going to be lenient because of the latest red shirt activity. But anyway, I would suggest a visa run to Poipet which is not far from Pattaya anyway. In and out of the gates. Maybe do some gambling at the nice casinos there.

You have a Multi Entry Non Imm B Visa. Each entry gives a maximum stay of 90 days. You have to leave before the 90 days are up and return to get another 90 days.
