British International School Of Thailand

Dr. George Hickman(aka Mr. FIXIT) will have a lot of things to prove to gain the respect and trust of the parents and teachers still sailing along with the new school BICT again changed to BIST.

In fairness, all his plans for the school are promising whether he can do it without the Thai admin. antagonizing him is really the big question!!! For the local owners its BUSINESS. Unfortunately we are their milking cows ,though for some rich buggers who are lucky enough to just move their kids in another school, some families simply has bugger all options but to stay, getting rid of their property is not an easy task, rushing to any decision will all end in regrets and tears as well. But of course you cannot rely on the school getting fix overnight. It takes years to gain any affiliation and reputation built. You have to make a Plan B and most of the parents I know have looked at other options too but will stick around for another year or at least a term... some waiting for space availability and some just trying to be positive because their livelihood is here and they dont really want to split up their family.

I dont really care about the name DIC , they probably have kept the standard in UK but definitely not here... Weeks of research and comparison from other schools in Southeast Asia... I would say one of the best facilities here in BIST Phuket but the IGCSE are no way up there!!! While KL, SING, AUSTRALIA boast on their 100% passing rate. I am afraid DIC is not that open about it because its an appalling result for a fee that can put ten poor children to private school... A move is probably imminent next year!!!

All we can do now is wait and see ...........
