MANHASSET, N.Y. — Mobile phone supplier Nokia Corp. has extended its agreement with Thailand mobile network provider Total Access Communications PLC (DTAC) to expand its GSM/GPRS/EDGE network in Thailand, in a deal valued at $212 million.

Under the agreement, Finland-based Nokia delivers a significant number of its EDGE-enabled UltraSite base stations as well as the Nokia NetAct network and services management system. The expansion will enable DTAC to increase its network coverage and capacity in Thailand.

DTAC is Thailand's second largest mobile phone supplier, having over 8 million subscribers for a 30 percent market share.

Nokia has been collaborating with DTAC since the early 1990s and has been its sole network provider since Oct. 2003.
