Its just been confirmed that Upson will start against Slovenia.. Wrong choice i think should have gone with Dawson, had a much better season then Upson.

so you monitered all 38 totnm games + all 38 whu games and simple as that , dawsin had a better season,

do yuorself a proper 1 mate , get yourself a job at the currant ,as sports corro..

till you get some bonafide facts on here, do 1

ian holloway had a reasonble seson also, does that make him a candidate for cappellos post , yep ,do 1

les dawson was good, also , unfortunately, the w,cup is not at blackpool pier

walcott__ huddlestone,?????

in all honesty mate??? can you see emile heskey an that crouch freak collecting the world cup of of anyone???? exactly, c ya

and if you want an opinion, as opposed to yours , shouldve played parker. based on your assumption of having a god season.

in fact , why not just have twitchy in there dealing with it. , fark me ,, be just like 66,proper guarantee to win, with dawson gettin an hattrick,

love you muggy spuds:), you will defo win the champs league :) thank you ,

He's got more experience I agree but how can you say he's in better form at the moment.....on that basis Dawson should have been in from the start.

john terry is a cun_t of enormous proportions. most of the senior players not talking to him now. was funny to see him publicly bitchslapped by capello though.

he should get on the same plane as Anelka as far as I am concerned.

Dawson did have a better season than Upson and is in form, although i'm not suprised Capello did'nt pick him. Just another one of his ill judged decisions.

He's somply deluded same as the rest of his countrymen......Its fun to watch realty dawning.....some still believe they will qualify. Its proving great sport this WC is!

Maybe this will at least put some fire in the belly for everyone.....for this reason I'll give you the benefit of doubt and say 1-1.;)

Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs.

The seven dwarfs always left to go work in the mine early each  morning.

As always, Snow White stayed home doing her domestic chores.

As lunchtime approached, she would prepare their lunch  and carry it to the mine.

One day as she arrived at the mine with the  lunch, she saw

that there had been a terrible cave-in.

Tearfully, and fearing the worst, Snow White

began calling out, hoping against hope that the dwarfs had

        somehow survived.

'Hello...Hello!' she shouted. 'Can anyone hear me?

        Hello!'

For a long while, there was no answer.   Losing

hope, Snow White again shouted, 'Hello! Is

        anyone down there?'

Just as she was about to give up all hope, she

heard a faint voice from deep within the mine,

        singing;

' ENGLAND    TO   WIN THE WORLD CUP'

Snow White fell to her knees in prayer

'Oh, thank you, God!     At least Dopey is still   alive.'

i think they will qualify. they'll probably go and beat slovenia pretty comfortably now. england never seems to do anything worthwhile without there being adversity involved along the way.

Now I understand, trying to employ the French logic about keeping top of mind awareness amongst the masses.

Sir Alex in Rooney talks

United chief encourages his star man

Last updated: 22nd June 2010

I spoke to Wayne Rooney and just said, 'relax and enjoy it. Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken with Wayne Rooney in a bid to kick-start his World Cup campaign.

England have stuttered to two draws in the opening games against USA and Algeria.

And Rooney has been the shadow of the player that scored over 30 goals for Manchester United last season.

But his club boss Ferguson has now made contact, and although he admits tension is high within the Three Lions camp, he feels Rooney just needs to 'relax'.

"Sometimes the expectation can be debilitating," Ferguson told
the Sun
.

"I had that feeling. I spoke to Wayne Rooney and just said, 'relax and enjoy it.'

"I just sensed there was a tension in and around the camp from what I was hearing.

"I didn't watch the Algeria game, I was out with friends, but I just get a feeling that the expectation is affecting the England team."

Ferguson admits the World Cup as a spectacle has been poor, but he is not surprised.

"It's been a disappointing World Cup, but I had a feeling it would be," he said.

"I have been disappointed with the quality levels, I haven't been impressed at all.

"The season we have in Europe, particularly in England, is tough.

"The players met up about 3-4 days after the season finished and they have been together for most of that time, after a long, hard season.

"It's a real task to ask players to perform at the best level they can achieve after the season in England."

John Terry is a knob and everyone knows it. Except him!

Terry saying that the only 2 players who can open up the opposition are Rooney and Joe Cole must have done a real lot for the team spirit.

Why is that, because he didn't mention Crouch, Defoe or Lennon?

well, yeah. he didn't mentioned his mate lampard or gerrard either. or ashley cole or glen johnson. it was a totally moronic move from a massive, massive cun_t.

Alfie's assumption is probably correct though isn't he. Quite what that tw_at thought he was doing is anyones guess. Surely he must have known not to comment on individuals. He also seems to have forgotten he's not the captain.

I'd be happy to see him dropped.

Who ever said that the French have a monopoly on self-destruction. He really is a wank_r

yea yea I agree, just giving Alfie a hard time. Wouldn't surprise me 1 bit Terry screws up in the 78th minute causing England to lose its lead and out of the WC.

I do wonder if JT has much of an England career left. You are probably right that the CB problems are the only reason he's still there. Coupled with that, he may be a good leader on the pitch but he's sow and technically average.

If certain other players were available i don't think we would miss him that much or the divisive atmosphere he creates.

he thought he could transfer his chelsea omnipotence to the england squad - seems he was wrong. at club level he's been pretty average for about 18 months or more, he's just been lucky that he's had guys like carvalho and alex there to make him look better.

Any individual who does'nt understand the need to keep things "in the locker room" is not fit to be captain anyway. I'm not surprised the other experienced players took a very dim view and are to be commended for distancing themselves.

should at least make england think a bit more cleverly about how they attack instead of lumping it up to heskey or crouch. defence looks fragile though.

Capello hints at regrets

England boss concedes possible mistakes over team selection

England manager Fabio Capello has admitted he may have made some mistakes with his team selection at the World Cup. The Three Lions have drawn both of their matches in Group C, with their most recent stalemate against Algeria coming in for particular criticism.

Question marks have been raised over Capello's decision to overlook the likes of playmaker Joe Cole, who has yet to feature in South Africa.

Capello, whose side meet Slovenia on Wednesday, concedes errors may have been made, but stressed he is focused on the future not the past.

He said on Sky Sports News: "Sometimes we make mistakes, but we win.

"Now we have not won, we have only drawn. It is possible I made some mistakes.

"But I don't know if we would have won if I had made changes to the side."

If that odious <deleted>, with his obvious footballing shortcomings is so important, then it's all the easier to understand why we have yet to win a game this tournament.
