Yeah, it was a sccessful nite for everyone.

Ya boy came out of his shell.

Guess he is a karaoke convert, now.

Started watching that Celine Dion concert/documentary last night on True and lo and behold I am sure that I saw Mr. Forbes. It was in the first 10 minutes or so and up pops his ruddy great noggin. I had to get off my exercise bike to change channels. Ruined my viewin' it did.

Sorry old mate, been out and about again, back yesterday, too stuffed to do anything.

I've been entertaining myself greatly in general these last couple of days.

In one thread I've been called an idiot by two separate people. I nearly had a third to make it a hat-trick, I'm not giving up hope on it yet though.

Let me know which thread, and I'll oblige and call you an idiot over there.

Not that I'm reading TV every day these days, as I'm travelling. But I always do my best to accommodate friends.

Thanks Tom, that's very considerate of you.

Unfortunately though the thread has been closed before I could reach the hat-trick, something to do with people going off-topic.

I'll be sure to keep you in mind though and the next time I need somebody to call me an idiot, I'll give you a nudge. I'll also be more than happy to return the favour should the need arise.

A bit like the rest of the asylum. I think most of the inmates have escaped for a holiday.

Some folk are just fussy about replying to the dead......................

Talking about the dead (well, using your response for an off-topic post) - yesterday on the trip to work we got on the ferry, as every day, and a beautifully maintained 1964 Jeep drew up alongside our car. A lot of original fixings, such as the whip aerial, windscreen latches, so on. Even an axe in it's clips along the sill of the driver's entry. Anyway, got chatting to the driver and navigator in their decked out uniforms and it turns out they are a part of a funeral cortege, along with half a dozen guys on motorbikes. All flying buddhist multi-colour patchwork flags. They said they were quite in demand for those who didn't want the traditional funeral with the 3-ton truck and it's carved temple on the back. The hearse itself was like one of these 12-seater buses, with most of the seats removed. All-in-all it made quite a show at six in the morning.

Today, on the journey to work, we came across an old-fashioned funeral, everyone wearing white, with white headbands. It was one of the wealthier homes in the villages outside Saigon, many mourners. No buddhist flags here, all were coming out from a church a few yards from the house where the mourning tents had been raised.

Both interesting incidents in their different ways, and both reminding one that life ain't for ever.

So heed Ian's words and live while you can. Then visit Neverdie down under.

You can be sure neverdie was in the first one. When the bugger came back, they tried the more traditional approach ( but he's still here ).

Edited to add: ...... Of course were all happy about that, gives Mooners somebody to fight and it brings prestige to TV. Not many boards can brag they have their own undead section.

If you guys keep talking about the dead then I'm going to get my camera and seek out some new photos.

Which one was Neverdie?

Oi! I'll take on anyone here in fisticuffs....it's not just Mooners ya know.

Mind you, having said that, I just read in a thread in OTB that Humphrey used to be a violent bully, beating up immigrant kids he didn't like, so I reckon Mr Bear could be a contender for bruiser, too.

Mr Bear is a reformed character - never beat up more than a couple of lazy workers a day now.

(Anyway, it wasn't immigrant kids - it was any kids that weren't in our gang)

But I wanted to open another topic applicable to SMB

Why are the Aussies among the sober nationalities of the world??

http://www.economist.com/blogs/dailychart/2011/02/daily_chart_global_alcohol_consumption&fsrc=nwl

(And the Kiwis)

Well, with the Kiwis I can understand it - they have to drink gallons of Steinlager to get a buzz.

At least the Ockers have VB and Castlemaine XXXX among several accewptable (when you're really thirsty) brews. And yes, OC, I remember your list of available brews - still got it on my hard-drive somewhere.

I think you misread your own link. Oz is marked at the second highest level of alcohol consumption. Just below most of the former soviet states and Britain.

Incidently, people who only mention VB, XXXX and Fosters when they talk about Aussie beers have little knowledge of the subject. The last time I drank Fosters was in London in 1995, XXXX in Brisbane in the 70's :bah:, and VB a couple of years ago at a BBQ when we ran out of everything else. And I'm a big beer drinker!
