Had a 1 night stop on a 1-star houseboat/ raft late last year at Sai Yok National Park. River and falls flowing great. Like to go again. Googled that June/July best time as states 'rainy' season. Is this true? Anyone been recently or from area. Didn't think much rain yet.Any clues as to best time to visit greatly appreciated. Other advice welcomed also - accomodation etc.

Any time during rainy season is just great, lots of colour around and hope you get a break in-between the showers.

Kan Winn, is there any rain at the moment, this month? I am heading up to Kanch at the weekend and was thinking of calling into Namtok Nang Kruan to see if there's any water flowing there.

Many thanks

Thanks Kan Win.

Reckon that's the place but more water than when I was there. Arrived late pm and left following mid-morning so didn't see much. Loved donning a life vest and dressing my can of beer in a bouyant insulator condom and doing the drift down the river. What a ball!! We were towed to a quiet spot (which suited) for the night but seemed a nice party scene in other areas also.

Water enough now? Was the photo from this season?

Hi 'andrew55',

Photo was taken 6 odd years ago, river should still be the same as the waterfall also. As for the level of the water in the river it is managed by "EGAT' from the 'Vajiralongkron Dam' unless like in 2000 they had to let the water out and flooded most of the resorts down stream like

Please take a look at other places in Kan

Same as this one is as well

Huay Mae Khamin Waterfall

This place is in Kanchanaburi Province. Go to Erawan Waterfall and just passed that there is a turn off to your left to Srinakharin Dam National Park. Only 42 kms thereafter on a very rough no tarmac road you will reach it. This was my second time there, but went there on that rough road. Near on 2 hours on that road to go 42 kms. I would not advise this road. Use the other route.

See below:-

The first time, I went the long way around on an easier way, on two ferries across the Srinakarin Reservoir. Great views there as well along that way. Go during the "Rainy Season" then the Waterfall should be as full as you have see in my photo.

Should you wish to go there, take a Thai with you that knows the area and way.

Took me 4 hours there, 1 click as you saw, 4 hours back with a whole group of people. On your own it should not take you that long.

Mae Khamin is nice, have slept there many times, even slept there last weekend again. Theres another road route past the Pha Sawan waterfall and into Srinakrin NP and yet another through Khao Laem and Klawng Ngu parks (they all eventually meet up just before the ferry site on the Mae Khamin side). 12 ks of the road to Erawan has now been tarmac'd but its still bone cruncher for the rest of the way (as are the other northern routes).

Try to get a good snap of the waterfall, and people stand in front ...

... That's just rude 😎
