Mini-Mart Robber Arrested After Jomtien 7-Eleven Heist

PATTAYA: -- Pattaya police apprehended a suspected mini-mart robber and a car full of merchandise after he and a gang of thieves raided the Hanuman 7-Eleven store in Jomtien on Saturday morning.

Pattaya, the 19th of June 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 00:30am on Saturday, Lieutenant Colonel Klitsakorn Thongin (Pattaya Police Deputy Superintendent) was notified by Miss Chatchanok Kaewbuttree [32], assistant manager of the Hanuman Curve 7-Eleven branch, that a robbery had just taken place. She explained that a gang of 5 thieves had just stolen several items from the store and fled in a gold Toyota Corona towards the Sukhumvit road.

Local police and volunteers were immediately dispatched to pursue the thieves up Soi Mitchaibancha, a back route to the Sukhumvit Road, successfully stopping the suspect vehicle which was travelling through the back soi’s with the lights turned off.

Approaching the vehicle, police arrested one occupant, Mr. Phakorn Krauphasit [60], in possession of approximately Bt100,000 in suspected stolen goods. Present in the vehicle were numerous bottles of whiskey, wine, cartons of cigarettes, packaged foods and personal care items. The other members of the gang were suspected to have been dropped off before police were able to stop the vehicle.
