The Pattaya Tourism Department has initiated a young ambassador contest to promote tourism in Pattaya. There will be 80 teams, of 3 people each, taking part in this competition. The 80 teams will be attending a seminar on how Pattaya City Hall administers the city, how the city maintains its overall image as a premier tourist destination, and how to speak eloquently to audiences in English. The youngsters will even enjoy a 4 day stay inside City Hall itself, to improve their social skills.

There are so many comments that can be made on the various aspects of this that I really don't know where to start.

I'll settle for whether the kids will be encouraged to lie or tell the truth, in which case the sex industry side of the city will be trumpeted loudly, which begs the question of whether kids should be involved with this project at all, and whether the way City Hall administers the city will be a masterclass of incompetence, greed and graft.

Pattaya is much more then the sex Industry. I had a look at the official Tourist Website from Amsterdam. Well hidden you could read about the Red Light District. Do they lie? No, its just one of the parts of Amsterdam. The same goes for Pattaya. Its just so much more then just about the Girls, but thats hard to spot if all you like to do is getting shitfaced and hanging out between Beachroad to Soi Buakao.
