Hello to all, I am a new member and want some info about girlfriend i met few months ago, I am thinking going to Australian embassy when i go back to Thailand, about applying for her to come to Australia for holiday for 3 months , I can support her financially . She has been at uni and now finished but still has to graduate, What are my chances getting her a visa granted ? By the time i go back it will be 5 months or so since we met? Does that affect her visa? She has a letter from her uni about graduating at end of the year, so would they look at that as a good reason to return to Thailand?

I seen another post about photo evidence? I only have 1 photo of us together and many of just her, Some receipts from places we have been , When i return should i take more photos of us together? Book appartment for the both of us to show we are staying together? Take a trip to Island or somewhere also ?

I have the financial backing for her and she has a letter from uni about her graduation,... I have kept phone records for last 3 months, 1 photo of the 2 of us and many of her.. Have i got any sort of chance with her visa being granted? I dont want to make up some story i have known her for a year or so but if i could have any information about how my chances will be or what else or should i do so when i go to Australian embassy with her we can get her visa accepted... Thank you all and i will keep reading about other posts.. This is great forum...Figgy

Good luck is all I can say.

To get my wife (then Girlfriend) a visa, I ended up putting together a documentation package about 10 cm thick. It included photo's, cd's, phone bills spanning 6 months My Bank Statements, letters from my employer, letters from her employer. Copies of my passport spanning the same period, Boarding passes, emails we had exchanged. It was endless, and there was nearly always something missing.

Do you have the idea ?

My advice, and I am Australian, take her somewhere easier to go for a holiday, and show her some Crocodile Dundee DVD's.

And by the way most of Issan looks about the same as Country NSW.

My first trip to Thailand was in April 2005 and my second in June 2005 and my gf who i met on the first trip now has a 3month tourist visa. I was told by everyone that she had no chance so i almost didnt bother applying for the visa. I didnt take a camera on my first trip so the only photos she submitted were taken on the second trip. Give it a go. As you are well aware these Thai gals are well worth the effort. Just dont waste your whole holiday on running round getting evidence for the application. Write a stat dec and have it wittnessed by a JP to say you will cover all costs including a round trip flight, medical costs and acomodation. Include every piece of evidence you have to show that you know her and go see her family before you put in the application to take a heap more photos. I thing getting one of you plowin the rice fields will help your case.(get it enlarged)

Regards and good luck
