Form 48/48r

Featured Replies

Gday guys,

Getting things prepared for applying for a short stay tourist visa for my wife and I have come across a small hurdle. Reading the Australian Visa Service website and also the Dept of Immigration website I cant find out which of the 2 forms we need to use for applying for her visa.

I also did a search of this forum and still couldnt come up with an answer except that the 48R has a few more questions on it.

Can someone please point me in the right direction? :o:D

sezzo,

I have always used form 48R THA just so my wife understands a little better.

We have never had any trouble applying for a short stay tourist visa using that form.

You should be able to download it from here...

http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/forms_num1.htm

As to what form is correct your guess is as good as mine.

I did find this quote from http://www.australiashop.com

but I can't vopuch for it's relevence.

To do this, please fill out the lower part of this form and also the visa application form 48

or 48R depending on your nationality.Passport holder of the nationalities eligible for an ETAS tourist visa (see under “Tourist Visa”) should use Form 48. All other nationalities please use Form 48R
