JohnC Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Well I have a gas cooker with three rings (gas) and one ring electric, the gas is ignited by means of an electronic igniter, for some reason this has stopped working on any of the rings yet the electric ring still works so therefore there is power going to the cooker, any suggestions as to what the problem might be?
Jimi007 Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Have you cleaned the the gas burner units? My gas only LPG burners use a spark generated by a created by piezoelectric generator. No electric connection involved. There is a small slit in the burner cap that should be pointed towards the sparker. Also the metal tube(manifold) that carries the gas can get plugged up or rusty. They are easily removed by taking off the burner ring and pulling the gas manifold towards you. You should be able to see they are attached by a pin and spring loaded mechanism. Bang the manifold on the ground to dislodge the rust and debris inside and reassemble.
powderpuff Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Find out who the dealer is & have them send out a service man. Or use one of those gun looking igniters.
