Interesting news.

Know of a least 30 Irish expats living in Phuket.

Will also help the tourist industry

What a dicotomy oc cultures that is.....Jesus, Mary and Joseph me say. Hope it will breing more Irish to Patong...tis all I have to say on that one!

The two resident Danes in the area will make short work of that. The they'll mosey over and join the Irish 7 for a drink :o

And who be the Irish 7....... Would that be the lot that broke out of the famous Irish prison and resided in the US untill free Willie Clinton rated a few out of a poliical deal to get Hillary laid whild Billy Bob was on the burner with Minica!

They'll be busy  :D

Doing what? No tourist, most Danes living in Phuket are in hiding because of the social security problems with the Danish rules. I would say it' s a joke to open a consular office.

Cheers.....kandt :o

The Deputy Director-General of the Ministry’s Department of Information, Kiattikhun Chartprasert, told the Gazette on Friday that both countries had proposed setting up official consulates on the island in order to serve their nationals living and traveling in the region and to provide other consular services.

The requests were approved during a Cabinet meeting on June 28, he said.

Both diplomatic missions were set up on a temporary basis after the tsunami and have been operating informally since.
