Dont konw if its the same as it was but when i lived in patters my mate who lived on the same estate as me bought one of them saftey cut things as we used to have a lot of power cuts when it rained, but he said it didnt work, IMHO, it would be better to sink a copper rod if you have a house as an earth i think it would be much safer hope this helps.

Theppasit Road going toward the beach from Sukhumvit on the left hand side after the market area and opposite the petrol stations is a row of shop houses, one of those is an electrical wholesaler shop. They also speak English.

That is a good shop Rimmer mentioned, you could also google "Safe T Cut" and get their contact details, i think they still have a shop on Sukhumvit Between Klang and Nua just after the Esso petrol station.
