Hi i'm thinking of taking a drive away from Bangkok for a few days in September, can anyone recommend a nice hotel in either Hui Hin or Cha am price range 1000 baht to 2000 a night.

Thanks

We stayed at Springfield Beach Hotel last year and I can strongly recommend this hotel. It may be a bit over your budget, but it is definitely worth paying a little extra for. You should be able to get a room with stunning seaview for THB 3.000 if you book in advance. We moved to there from "Tara Mantra" (THB 2.400), which is a new hotel and have beautiful rooms, but no view at all, though it is located right next to the beach.

Hi,

We stayed in Cha-Am in the Golden Guest House, near to the beach, great breakfasts and very nice rooms. We were quoted 850baht per night for B&B but only paid 800baht, bike included and motorbike's for rent. Have a look at the reviews for this place.

you should also think about what you want to do, Cha-am is a bit sleepy and mostly Thai. if you want restaurants, bars, girls, shopping, etc. Hua hin is more full on, think Miami in the hot season with bar girls.

Hotel California in Cha-Am for about 600baht/night with walking distance to the beach!

Stay well clear of this hotel and any other in that Soi for at least the next 6 months. The old KhaenChan hotel is being rebuilt right opposite here and the noise is awful. Try Lang Suan or Niradorn 3 right on the beach, parking/air/TV etc etc, prices from 700 up but book early as they are full every weekend.

600 baht is less than the 1000 baht you asked about, but it's much nicer than many that would charge you 1000 or more.

Are they giving their guests ear muffs to block out the building noise???
