Industrial Wire Thief Arrested at Derelict House in Pattaya

PATTAYA: -- Pattaya Police successfully arrested a suspected industrial wire thief at a derelict house in Thepprasit on Tuesday morning. In addition, police arrested four other residents of the house on various drug use charges.

Pattaya, the 20th of July 2010 [PDN]: At approximately 6:00am on Tuesday, Captain Jamrat Thongjinda (Pattaya Police Investigator) and a team of officers raided a derelict house in Soi 7, Thepprasit Road. The occupants of the house were thought to be involved with industrial wire thefts in the area and were suspected drug users.

Following a complaint from local residents, police raided the premises and arrested a man, now known to be Mr. Jakphet Bunmee [40]. Investigations revealed the presence of a significant amount stripped electrical wiring stored on Mr. Bunmee’s Honda Wave motorbike and side-cart. At present police estimate that there was approximately 30kg worth of wiring stored on the motorbike.
