Transfer Of Motorcycle Ownership In Pattaya.

Featured Replies

I've just bought a second hand motorcycle and have been given the green book signed by the previous owner.

However it's all in Thai and I don't what I need to do next.

Can anybody help me and let me know what the next step is.

First thing go to Immigration Soi 8 and get a Certificate of Residence.

You have to go to the Dept. of Transport out on the Rayong Rd. near the Regent School. All or the forms are in Thai so you will need someone who can read and write thai to go with you. Its probably best if you take the previous owner out there with you if you can.

Transfer of vehicles from one owner to another can be difficult. It definately best to have the previous owner along.I won't buy without this and hold back at least 25% of the money till I see my name in the book.

A friend bought a s/h from a local dealer there was a problem with the previous owners paperwork and the Transport dept wouldn't complete the transfer but he had paid in full.Dealer helped a bit but couldn't sort it and soon didn't want to know!!! Can be a minefield. He is just one of thousands riding a m/c that can't ever be legal.
