Canon Eos Err 1

Featured Replies

I have cleaned the contacts on the camera and lens as recommended for this error, but no improvement.

The camera works perfectly with other lenses,

so I guess the problem is in the lens.

Any thoughts before I send the lens EFs 17-85 off to the Canon centre?

Thanks

I had the same problem. Took it to Canon who diagnosed a sticking diaphragm in the lens. Replacement cost 7k on a 24-105mm and took a couple of weeks.

  • 2 weeks later...

could be due to the AF module of the lens. Test it out by setting the lens to manual and take some pic...

It is in the shop and the diagnosis is the diaphragm.
