bannork
Superb playing, a haunting melody, a beautiful bass and mandolin player, exuding youthful joy and urgency. Jeez, what a combination.

Popular Post bannork
A sombre but superb song by Bert Jansch DB, the inspiration for Ambulance Blues by Neil Young Give me some smack doc when i'm in the painful last stages of cancer but not before then.Back in the mid 80s i stayed in a bungalow on Goa beach India. In the room next to me was a sound engineer from the Steve Wright show on Radio 1 who had resigned because the smack was cheaper in India We were literally 200 metres from the sea and he spent the whole day lying on his bed wasted.Unbelievable

The Man was used and couldnt see it, never mind, the rich white man didnt send their kids either.

bannork
Good ole George Thorogood,he never had any intention of getting a 'straight' job. too good a guitarist for that nonsense, only us less talented folk are forced to walk the treadmill, unable to entertain the masses like George or Muhammad Ali. I have to disagree with you rgs regarding your 'chump outside the ring' comment. Ali's refusal to fight in Vietnam, his changing of his name and religion were all acts that said to the dominant Wasps, White Anglo-Saxon Protestants- 'we ain't playing your game any more' and for that he will go down in history as a figure the blacks could look up to, admire and emulate.
