Superb playing, a haunting melody, a beautiful bass and mandolin player, exuding youthful joy and urgency.

Jeez, what a combination.

A sombre but superb song by Bert Jansch DB, the inspiration for Ambulance Blues by Neil Young

Give me some smack doc when i'm in the painful last stages of cancer but not before then.Back in the mid 80s i stayed in a bungalow on Goa beach India. In the room next to me was a sound engineer from the Steve Wright show on Radio 1 who had resigned because the smack was cheaper in India

We were literally 200 metres from the sea and he spent the whole day lying on his bed wasted.Unbelievable

He refused to play their game, namely,a black man should go to Vietnam to kill a yellow man for the white man.

RIP Muhammad Ali, for your boxing skills, humour and beliefs.

To the brave throughout the world who are prepared to put their lives on the line for their beliefs

BN, still hanging on to The Hippy Dream I see, the man in the ring was a Champ, outside he was a Chump, thats from Blacks who were there.

The Man was used and couldnt see it, never mind, the rich white man didnt send their kids either.

Good ole George Thorogood,he never had any intention of getting a 'straight' job. too good a guitarist for that nonsense, only us less talented folk are forced to walk the treadmill, unable to entertain the masses like George or Muhammad Ali.

I have to disagree with you rgs regarding your 'chump outside the ring' comment. Ali's refusal to fight in Vietnam, his changing of his name and religion were all acts that said to the dominant Wasps, White Anglo-Saxon Protestants- 'we ain't playing your game any more' and for that he will go down in history as a figure the blacks could look up to, admire and emulate.

Black rock n roll to reggae

I thought this was a very brave rendition of a classic, l also like it....thumbsup.gif

Blimey, transam, Dolly does Stairway to Heaven, whatever next, Emmylou on Whole Lotta Love?

I like Amy on the long notes

BN, I know you lurve the ramblings of The Lizard King, Mr Mojo Risin.

For all those farang sitting on barstools, nursing their stubbie coolers or cold sleeves, whether in Soi Nana, Soi Cowboy or the street leading up to the railway station in Udon.
