Hotel Near Airport List Very Dated

Featured Replies

The list is from 06, comments in Thaivisa from 07.

I need a nice, cheerful hotel close to airport, good beds.

Any good experiences lately?

Quick pick up?

or short taxi ride?

I've stayed at the Convenient Resort a number of times, most recently November 2009, and been happy with the place. Clean, reasonably priced, and close to the airport.

I usually book them through Agoda.com or Asiarooms.com.

They pick up and deliver.

Over the past few years, I've stayed at the Silver Gold Garden Hotel ten times, and have been quite satisfied with the room and service. I book via sawadee.com web site to get a rate of B850.

When I was initially researching airport area hotels, the thing at that time that made the Silver Gold Garden Hotel stand out, was the free shuttle to/from the airport. There were stories about folks having trouble with taxis to other, similar hotels in the area, since taxi drivers frequently did not know where these hotels are. Maybe with time, that taxi problem has changed, but I've stuck with Silver Gold Garden.

FYI, since my flights usually arrive late at night, and I live in Jomtien, I find it more civilized (and cheaper!) to go to the hotel, sleep in a bed at night time, and take a Bell Travel bus in the morning from the airport to go home. If I take a midnight taxi-ride home, I usually unpack, then go to bed, and don't wake up until early afternoon -- roughly the same time as I'd arrive on the 10:00am Bell Travel bus the next morning.
