Gladly for MAKRO the cash was delivered INTO banks premises

and must be considered DELIVERED by MAKRO...... OR??????

If robbed outside bank, no delivery was done. So in this case, bank is at fault here, gladly......

Glegolo

So the bank is at fault, gladly? Does it make any difference? What I want to know is what happened to the other 12 Million?

Not for you maybe!! But for me it makes a difference. I am totally and always pissed off with the banks and their behaviour

towards us customers.

So I "gladly" see the bank loose..

wonder how many Thais can pronounce 'Lone Robber'?

Shouldn't be too hard fore most. The only tricky part is the final "R" in "robber", and in some accents the initial "R" might get pronounced like an "L". Have them try this:

Of course, these losses will not be born by the bank alone. They will find a way to pass them on to their customers in the form of more fees.

Ah Pattaya you have done it again. The crime capital and Sin city of the world. When will Thailand learn and close tis place down. Thailand is drowning and Pattaya is the anchor. So many stories every week of crimes, murders, pedophilles being found in the back streets, scams, and every other dirty thing you can think of comes out of Pattaya.

Thailand is a great place but Pattaya is sinking it.

Geography or comprehension not your strong suit, then.

Not sure about sin city but sun city in S Africa. I read in the spectator that a correspondent defended the 18,000 annual murders by saying he had only been attacked once in that period......

Thai banks are getting to be easy pickens....8M baht today by a long robber...a few days ago 4M baht when a whole ATM machine (just filled up with cash) was taken. I better go to the bank tomorrow and physically confirm they still have my cash; no on second thought I better not, as with my luck I might be there when a robbery is going on. ;)

Once again the headline doesn't match the article.

I was wondering how on earth anyone could get away with 8 million baht from an ATM, and then of course, it turns out to have nothing to do with an ATM!

Yes, the 4M ATM robbery occurred a few days ago and at a different location/bank in the country...the robbers took the whole ATM machine shortly after it had been filled up in the late evening with fresh cash (plenty of 1000 baht notes) and took the machine pretty neatly per the Thai evening TV news/English language newspaper stories I saw. The ATM machine was taken a few hours after dark fell.

As far as I know EVELY BANK has an insuLance for cases like these :jap:

Banks in Thailand are the worst moneymaking machines in the world i guess. One have to pay a fee for taking his own money out of his own account if he is in another city than this one the bankaccount is made. Same goes if you bring money in. Nothing free in Thaibanks and Siam Comercial is the worst with fees

One of the cleanest jobs I've seen for quite a while. The man had scoped this out proper. In, out, no one hurt. But going on past form, these guys usually don't know how to carry the job through. He should be laying low right now, for a few months. But no. They almost always get caught in the end, by telling too many people, spending up too soon, not paying the "BIB" their dues and by jealous friends etc. etc. I don't have much sympathy for the banks either. Would be a nice change to actually see this one get away with it!

Just caught an item on Channel 7 news. Police are saying that this is the third heist this guy has pulled off like this, over several months. Quite the artist.

hmmmmm ... 8 million baht !!

The chief of police has ordered all his available men out to search for the ' lone robber ' and the two bags of money. He has even sent his neighbour , cleaner , taxi driver , wife , cousin and brother out as well ... all have been told to bring the two bags to him as soon as they are found. He will take care of it and ensure everything is in order. :whistling:

Bt200,000 Bounty Offered for Bank Robber

Khon Kaen police have offered a 200,000-baht reward for the capture of a UOB bank robber. Police believe the robbery is linked to a heist in 2008 when 12 million baht was robbed.

Provincial Police Bureau 4 Deputy Commissioner Police Major General Sakda Techakriangkrai has disclosed further information on the progress of Monday's robbery at the Khon Kaen branch of UOB Bank, where a lone gunman walked away with more than six million baht.

Investigators held a meeting to review security camera footage and question three G4S company security officials who transported the cash bags.

Police found that the robber escaped using Baan Sithan Road. They are reviewing security camera footage from the surrounding area which may have captured the suspect fleeing the crime scene.

Sakda also said that the suspect may be linked to the SAMCO security van robbery that occurred in 2008, when a lone gunman took off with 12 million baht. Police are still unable to track down the suspect or the money.

Police believe the suspect may be a person in uniform and a weapon specialist since the pistol used was an automatic Glock 19, a government-issued firearm for police and the military.

A 200,000-baht bounty has been offered for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.

Then you must love the American style of Bank Robbery, from Jesse James to those two guys who held up the North Hollywood bank.

I think the Texas method of stopping a robbery is the most efficient. The criminal says 'this is a stick-up' and everyone draws their guns against him...LOL

However, Thomas Jefferson said it well when he said "The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government" - that works well against small tyrants, like bank robbers.

You don't get it, do you? The bank never loses. The customers always pay, one way or the other.

First, Thailand and Pattaya are not sinking, Bangkok is. Secondly, when you write something, the same crap comes out, it is pathetic. The same bla bla about how bad Pattaya is. This time you did not even bother to read the topic. IT IS NOT ABOUT PATTAYA! The robbery took place in Khon Kaen, a long way from Pattaya. The names don't even start with the same letter. Try say this: Khon Kaen. No, not Pattaya, KHON KAEN! Try again. NO NOT PATTAYA! I give up.

Routine transaction?

Down here in the big city we use armored trucks (think Brinks).

Inside job for sure.

Armoured vehicles is my line of work , both cash in transit and personal vehicles, I find it amusing you consider those brinks vehicles to be armoured.
