Any local store should have a large plunger for sale - I think I paid 50 baht for one in Bueang Khan which certainly helped clear the air.

Try asking around the local community shops prior to going to Tesco or any other multinational shops - it was really easy for me and it's about half the height of me too!

A Thai toilet plunger will last less than a year with regular use. But only 70 baht at a local hardware store.
