And if I ever went naked, it would be the Street Triple R.

Reimund (and wife) on a Duc Hypermotard and myself on the 848 are in Patong at the moment on the way back from Sepang motogp. Reimund wants to check this out so we may come along.

How many bikes are you expecting?

Looks like it should be mostly dry tomorrow.

Any bikers interested in riding up in a group from the south of the island, some of us are meeting at Villa Market/HomePro Chalong at 11am, then meeting some of the Patong guys at 1130 at Caltex in Kathu, bottom of Patong Hill.

Not sure about number of ride participants RC, if I were to believe every rider who said they coming tomorrow, it should be around 80-100.

We are happy if 50 shows up though, anything more than that is simply awesome.

Looking forward to see you guys.

A decent turnout of 40+ bikes despite the less than perfect weather. It was nice to meet a lot of new faces. We even had a couple of female sport bike riders!!

And a thanks is owed to all those that made it happen, especially Crobiker who did most of it by himself. And to Triumph of Phuket as title sponsor.

Yeah, I know I enjoyed it. A few of us are Big Bike Highway Police Volunteers and got to help with the marshaling duties. The look on some of the Thai faces when they saw a farang doing traffic control at the intersections was priceless. It was a lot of fun, but more important everyone got back safely.

Yup, very much true. There were 4 ride marshalls wearing Highway Police volunteer jackets, 3 from ghost Riders MC (scubabuddha being one of them) and katabeachbum.

Here are few more pics from the event, we got too many to list here.

According to ride participants and other guests, event was a success and we have decided to make it an annual affair. Those of you who chickened out because of morning thunderstorm made a bad judgement - weather was awesome!

For more pics (hundreds of them), please go HERE . About dozen or so Thai Visa members can see their pics over there too. Every single ride participants has been photographed one time or another.

Our gratitiude goes to Highway, Tourist Police and EMS who at our request provided 3 support vehicles in addition to 2 of our (ghost riders MC) own. Same goes to 4 Highway Police Volunteers, 2 of them members of this forum: Katabeachbum and Scubabuddha.

.

Finally, bigest thanks to Khun Dom Hetrakul, president and owner of BritBike Triumph Thailand and Mr Phil, MCW Phuket MD whose sponsorship made this event possible.

See you again in 2011!

Video coverage of the ride....

Great shots (and more on the GR forum).. And good to see 1) so many sportbikes on a Phuket run and 2) nice mixing of Thais in there too.

Indeed! Thais love these kinds of gatherings, as a matter of fact my phone has been ringing for days now, everyone is asking when we gonna do this again!

Some folks even suggested to do the Christmas Run and I am all for it but I wish someone else takes over initiative in organizing this cause I am pretty exhausted running around and making deals with authorities, sponsors, MC's and other ride groups.

If any Phuket based RIDE GROUPS decide to organize similar event, our team and friends will provide full support and help as much as possible to make it success.

Few more things:

As of now, MCW Phuket is sole distributor of Hero GoPro Motorsport Video cameras for Southern Thailand. You don't need to order these from USA anymore, they come with complete warranty and price is not more than 12,000 baht. Keep in mind these are new advanced models, HD with 32 gig card and improved batteries that can handle up to 8 hours of continuous recording. By the way, Triumph Phuket even managed to sell 2 motorcycle units right there in Royal Marina, in addition to cameras and riding apparel as well.

Also, I need to thank Thai Visa members "Donshe" who flew from Australia just to attend this event and "Smedly" (Honda Blacbird) who came down from Pattaya with his pal (BMW GS) whose name I can't recall right now.

But we were missing a Fireblade. ;)

LivinLOS, I would have to give you the honorary Post Whore award, as compared to my feeble attempts since joining TV.

I'm really happy for you that all your hard work has paid off and all the positive feedback you received from the participants. One day I'll have the opportunity to participate in this type of an event. :D

Congrats again,

Garry

No need to thank, am thankful to you for organising such a successful event that I was lucky enough to attend.
