Need Help On Visa Application

Featured Replies

hello , am i from france , i have a thai wife (we are married) , and 2 kid, i will move to thailand soon, my question is this one , about visa 1 year , i have read a lot of post, and always tha same thing coming back : show 400 k in account banck; etc...

I got the 400 k in my account bank , but this is not coming from overseas , can i apply for a visa 1 year ?? if not let me know the best way to get it, thanks

and second think , if i come o thailand with 8000 euro cash money , and show that this money is coming from my account bank in france , is it work when i will put it in my thai account ?? or should i do a tranfers to bank to bank ??, thanks a lot for ur reply ,and sorry for my english writing

Hi Thaivid,

I'd get yourself a non-immigrant O visa from the Thai embassy in Paris. In order to get that you only need to show that you're married to a Thai. When you arrive in Thailand, you will then be given 90 days. During this 90 days you can then start planning obtaining the 1-year stamp. However, when you apply for the 1-year stamp you do have to show that the 400,000 baht comes from overseas, so I would recommend a transfer rather than taking cash.

Scouse.

thank a lot for ur reply, ok i have get an already 1 year visa multi entry in thai embassy in paris , they make a mistake , so they said i can go to immigration in phuket , and i dont need to go out of the contry every 3 month, just show in case 400 k in account bank is it right ??? and for the cash money ,i will do like u said tranfers account l will be better, thanks a lot Scouser

You do have to show other things too, but the main factors are to be married to a Thai and to have 400,000 baht in a Thai bank sourced overseas. About one month before your 90 day entry expires apply for the 1-year stamp at your local immigration office. You may have to wait 1 or 2 months for the 1-year permit to be authorised and, when I applied, we did receive a visit from immigration to confirm that my wife and I lived together in suitable accommodation.

another question , sorry ii forgot , i would like to know about money , transfer is it matter who the money coming from, example : familly in france , in thailand we just need to show that the money from oversea right ?? or i must tranfert it from my personal account ?? and also can i tranfert it in 2 times or must be 400k in once??

at least , my non immigrant o 1 year multi entry, can i change it in 1 year visa , after the past 90 days ?? and dont use the re entry , just make the form application for 1 year visa??

sorry about all that question , but i heard to many different thing

for the suitable accomadation i got it , thanks a lot again

The Thai Government do not care where the money has come from........could be your account overseas or whoevers providing the 400k comes from overseas and is paid into your account in Thailand.

You can transfer the money into the country in 2 or as many times as you want as long as the money is in your account in Thailand when you apply for the 1 year extension.

Yes you can "change" you multi entry to a 1 year extension of stay stamp no problem.

One final point once you transfer the 400k into your account in Thailand its best if during the following year if there is activity on the account i.e come extension time next year immigration can see you have been using the money to support yourself and your family.............it is not neccessary to use the whole 400k during the year (you could just use 300k of it and then "top up" the account with a further 300k from overseas come extension time...........as long as immigration do not think you are working in Thailand to support yourself is the point i am trying to make)

:o

ok thanks a lot thaifliers1 for ur answer , i will do like u said

this is the best friendly site

As said you should use wire transfer (SWIFT) so that the money can be traced back to outside of Thailand if you do not have employment here. The bank account can be in your name or a joint account with your wife. You will be asked your yearly income when you apply for the extension of stay (one year) and each time you do this it will have to be filled in. The 400k is expected to be what you support you and your wife with each year so regular use would be expected and regular deposits as it ebbs. Each year at renewal time the account will have to be at the 400k level or higher.

thanks for ur answer lopburi, and what about tt tranferst ? is it working to ? oh sorry i would say a western union is it ok ?? ,

I would only use TT (SWIFT) bank to bank so that there is an entry in your bank account showing overseas source. Not sure if you can do Western Union into a bank account but the cost is so high that it would not be my choice even if you could.
