Bob Dylan - Modern Times

:o

The Band; "The Night they Drove Old Dixie Down"

The Band are fantastic. Some people have no idea who they are. I talk about music to people and say. Do you like the Band? They are like who. Which band? I Say THE BAND! Some people just have no idea. :D:D

Grant Green - Sunday Morning

PS - That new Dylan album (Modern Times) is pretty good. It's not Highway 61 Re-Revisited or Blonde on Brunette but forty years down the road, who would reasonably expect it to be...? :o

Massive Attack,

the whole Blue Lines album...

It remains classy, stylish, suave, and highly listenable.

I just discovered X Japan, a group from Japan, on a CD I got at Pantip, of soft rock. "Tears" is incredible, even when he sings in Japanese.

As for Led Zeppelin, I enjoy a VCD of their Madison Square Garden concert, around 1973.

For years I've known about ten songs by Curtis Mayfield.

I've recently obtained a couple of COMPLETE Original Copy albums worth ranging from;

  • Curtis Mayfield & The Impressions Anthology (2 discs 1961 - 1977 )
  • Curtis/Live (at the Bitter End) = Soooooo Goooood!
  • Curtis (With extended edits of "hel_l below us")
  • Do It All Night
  • Give it Up
  • Live at Ronnie Scott's (with interview by Paul Weller)
  • A Man like Curtis
  • Move on up (the singles anthology)
  • New World Order
  • Roots and finally the superfly sessions
    But theat ain't all,,,,
Two discs performed by other artists... as far as I understand, Curtis composed and arranged and produced the disc called
  • Curtis Mayfield's Chicago Soul
  • Tribute To Curtis
done by Aretha, the Boss, Stevie Wonder, Clapton, Gladys Knight, and more... Brilliant!!!!!
I'm gonna be happy today! :o:D
