Border Aranyaphratet - Poipet

Featured Replies

I used to do a few Visa-Runs (Aranyaphratet / Poipet). I got the impression that Cambodians ( with their merchandise, loaded on all kinds of vehicules including 2-wheelers pulled by themselves) can cross the border without any control by Thai Customs. How come ? Or have I missed something ?

Have heard that Cambodians can obtain a 1 day pass in the morning and have to return back to Cambodia in the evening. Sounds unrealistic to me. How would customs actually control this, especially since I have not observed any customs controlling action at all (as far as Cambodians are concerned).

What are the "inner workings". Anyone that can enlighten me ? Cheers.
