3Bb Must Have Contract?

Featured Replies

Hi there

a female friend just moved and I tried to give her some advice today but would like to check on a couple of things.

1. I personally had an internet problem (3BB)few months ago and they came and ran a long new line through the garden to the house. While they were there the guy said "You don't need a phone line anymore". Is this so with all companies? And will they always run a new internet line if you want to not pay for a phone line anymore (which is becoming pretty ubiquitous!)

2. My friend said she was paying 720baht and had to sign a contract.

First....why 720? I pay 590 plus vat comes to about 630.

Second....I seem to remember hearing that one no longer needs to sign up for a year. Is this not so? Or is it just for 3BB?

Thanx for helping out my friend!!

John

3BB does not require a telephone. They will run their own internet-only cable.

Other companies will want you to have a phone line. True do for example.

3BB is definitely under contract. Anyone installing a line to your property will want you to be under contract.

I'm with 3BB myself.

I've been with TOT and JINET ISP's; both required contracts. Contracts for internet service is pretty much the norm in Thailand.
