the Collingwood Criminals

Living up to their reputations:

Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault reportedly involving Collingwood premiership players hours after the Magpies' AFL grand final win against St Kilda on Saturday.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman confirmed police were investigating an allegation of sexual assault in South Melbourne early yesterday.

Collingwood has confirmed the two of its players have made statements to police about the incident.

I see that the 'Pies have signed up another player, who did eighteen months a couple of years back.

And his old man did about six years.

Collingwood are up to their usual tricks.

They want to get Tarrant back, now that he has regained form, for nothing, after selling him for a fortune a couple of years back.

Hey, OC - did you realise that your post above has locked out the 'Australia' thread?

Which of our mods is a Collingwood barracker?

Yes, I think the reasons are a little more than a precious supporter of the Pies.

Mods are chosen for showing at least a modicum of common sense and good judgment. So no, none of us are magpie supporters. :bah:

And so, while agreeing that the real world cup is in NZ in 2011 (and sure that England will win it), why was the 'Australia' thread closed? I could see nothing offensive there, after all the bulk of insults were directed at deserving cases.

PS - Dan Carter is back in business, says his ankle is better than ever.

So the AB's have a kicker, the Wannabee's are still trying to train one.

^ if you get the chance this weekend humphrey try and catch the england v n. zealand game. SBW makes his debut for the kiwis at centre and by all accounts donnyboy reckons his the next best thing to come out of the all blacks camp. from what i have seen of him he looks like a really exciting prospect with bags of talent.

cant wait for this one, should be a real hum dinger !

I won't get into an open discussion on moderation as that violates the rules, but I will point out that the World Cup is South Africa's to lose.

In my life, I have rarely done things in moderation..............................Oooops can I say that ?

I'll be sitting in a sports bar in Saigon, but I don't know what'll be on.

Depends if the Oz channels want to show their two biggest enemies kicking shit out of each other, or if they have women's netball on.

Couldn't find any NZ satellite in Vietnam.

Didn't really matter, did it - Northern Hemisphere 0 - Colonials 3.

I'll have to go home and wake those dozy baaastaaards up.

ABs were lucky.

According to the ref, they cannot scrum........<deleted>

Penalised umpteen times, not England.

Difference between Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere referees.

Look at the Blediloe Cup match in Hong Kong with a Paddy ref. He waited half an hour between 'pause' and 'engage' every time. I saw two props fall asleep and get penalised for pulling down the scrum.

We really must try and play the same game under the same set of conditions.

The current standards, and training, of referees in the two hemispheres are diverging instead of converging.

I watch both sets of matches regularly.

Even if it is supposed to be unified IRB rules and interpretations, the two hemispheres are playing a different game, especially in the scrum. That doesn't make life easy for the players and tempers will get a little ruffled. It's supposed to be an entertainment, the referees are supposed to ensure smooth running of the game, not impose their own (varying) interpretation on every match.

I don't know what kind of inquest is held in the referee's room / boss's room after each weekend, but a review of a week's matches shows things accepted here, penalised there. Other times blatant fouls being ignored. Should be some sort of teleconferencing with videos - comments made by all senior refs.

Gotta be a little Hitler to wanna be a ref, control everything "your way"..

Only good thing, is being close to the action, and some...........

Naaaaaaaah, not for me.

Most of 'em have probably been abused all their lives - it's what keeps them turning up week after week, despite any real no. 8 knocking 'em off their feet as the scrum releases.

Rule No 1 for #8 - hit the opposing scrum half hard and often.

Rule No 2 - hit the opposing fly half harder and oftener

Rule No 3 - hit the ref at every opportunity. (Good if he's on loose-head side - a fast, curving, rising-from-the-waist hit under the rib-cage)
