FarangBuddha Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Does anyone have experience in buying Lynn brand aluminum windows, or more generally, quality heavy duty aluminum windows. How do such windows compare to UPVC windows? The main benefits appears to be fire resistance and no discoloration of frames over time. They also claim aluminium windows have much higher tensile strength than UPVC. Lynn also claims the weather resistance chemicals in UPVC degrade over time and also attract dirt and are difficult to keep clean. They also state that generally, PVC (polyvinyl-chloride) based products are not environmentally friendly in either their manufacture, use, and end of life disposal. Lynn claims to use 6063 T5 grade aluminum in their frames for maximum strength and durability. Price-wise, they seem to be in the same ballpark. Any comments on preference for windows.
