i bought a mitsu triton 6 weeks ago, 2.5 4d , i like the shape of the triton but feel of it i dont like, takes a lot to turn it , its noisy and doesnt have remote central locking or airbags and quite basic interior, its only 3 year old, i might turn it next year for a toyota prerunner, what is better about the toyota ?

also does anyone know where i can buy 2nd hand parts ie back trailer cover / hood for the mitsu.

Here we go again Toyota Vigo 4x4 auto - 4 door - 4-4D turbo still the best.:whistling:

but don't forget they will pump your tyres up 80 psi, nitro is the best in tyres.

Drove a Prerunner last week and although in general not a bad drive, i was disappointed with how uncomfortable the clutch was. The pedal was set high up which meant bending the knee quite a bit and the travel was really long. Didn't take long in slow moving traffic to get leg fatigue. I'd try to get the 4X4 which has the option of auto.

I haven't yet driven a comfortable pick up / suv (Thai made) - the suv here is pick up's with extended cabins - if you need a better ride shift to a car built for personel trans. rather than trucks

BMW X3, Volvo X90 and X60 are pickups with extended cabs

and Fortuner is no pickup neither, based on a pickup yes, but different frame, body, suspension

back to OPs question

according to people not owning Vigo its heavy on fuel. My last roadtrip ended a week ago. 4.070 km took exactly 4.000 liters with my 2010 Vigo 3,0VN auto 4x4 4 door. Highwayspeed usually 140-160kmh on cruise control and light load, only one motocy in the bed.

Engine is the smoothest of LOS 4 pots, and tourque band the widest.

Brakes are the best pickup brakes in LOS.

Only pickup in LOS to come with electronic stability and cruisecontrol

4 door Triton has only 135 cm bed, which is to short for my needs

It appears what you're really complaining about is a lack of creature comforts, and I'm guessing that's just because you've got a base model.

If that's the case, switching brands isn't necessary - moving to a higher model grade will do it. The only thing you'll notice between similarly spec'd Triton and Hilux models are that the Hilux has a slightly larger tray and higher fuel consumption, while a higher-grade Triton drives a little more "car-like", has a much nicer looking interior, and is a cheaper 2nd hand buy than a Hilux.

Both are just as noisy as each other, both have large turning circles - there's no magic bullet on these fronts, they're trucks.

Also agree with others RE: manual transmission. Don't do it. The Triton is available in both 2.5L and 3.2L, 2WD and 4WD, and Extra-cab/Double-cab with an Auto box. Perhaps you should give the "Plus" models a look-in/test drive - for about the same Baht as a Prerunner you;ll get a 4WD with every possible add-on there is (used).

From the looking around i have done the Toyota's seem to hold there value a lot more. I am looking to buy new Vigo 4X4 for this reason as second hand they are are more expensive and being Thailand you never know what has been done to the vehicle before you bought it. I have bought a cheap run around for the moment and there so many stupid things that have been done before including doing the wheel nuts up so tight that I had to get a mechanic with his LARGE air gun to undo them. Using wheel spanner and a piece of pipe would not undo them with out breaking the wheel spanner. The mechanic was surprised too, he tried his normal air gun but it would not shift them, lucky I did not have a flat tyre in the middle of no where.

"...4.070 km took exactly 4.000 liters..."

Am I reading this right? Just a tad over one KM per liter of fuel?

I hope that's a mistake, or I'm reading it wrong, because if that's correct,

your truck has a problem.

40,000 Km or 400 liters would be right.

Very disapointing isn't it but it seems to me where ever you live the main dealers are so different your Toyota dealer with your Camry you may of think was good but it just may of been the car itself being good, my main Toyota dealer here in Sukhothai is a total joke.

Speaking of sloppy zero's, my chipped Pajero Sport does 0-300KM/hr in 1.9s

;P

My Vigo does 0 -60 mph in 1.3 seconds with the mrs driving, beat that..

My bathroom scales do 0 to 100 in 0.01 milliseconds.

Yeah I'm sure all those car owners in all of flooded Thailand the past month were very happy with their purchase decision.
