Mae Sai Border Checkpoint Open 25 December?

Featured Replies

I will be in Chang Rai on 25th December, will the border checkpoint be open? I need to my visa run and this would be convenient otherwise it will be Cambodia 4th Jan. Any info about opening would be appreciated

Yes the border will be open unless of course there is any political unrest that can prevent it from being open.

It is a normal working day.

When I did a Christmas day border run , I decided never again as it ruins the day if your invited somewhere. Over the years if my border run has fallen in the Christmas period, I normally go a day or 2 before , I just lose the days as its only once a year that we celebrate Xmas.

Merry Christmas in advance :D

Thanks for that, we are coming on a coach trip from Nakhon Sawan so I dont have much control over what is happening, we have the 25th to get my visa done and hopefully get christmas lunch but, you know Thai itineries may be different, if I get xmas lunch I will be happy, have a good christmas yourself and all other celebrators too.:D

I've just checked our Thai Calender , the 25th is a non event on there. No full moon, half moon or Bhudda day.

Business as usual I suspect
