I bought a couple but over indulged on Sausage King's sausages and they are still in the fridge.

I love fruit cake , but there is a chap who makes a fresh fruit cake , we would call it a flan in England. I used to make them myself when strawberries were plentiful. The supermarkets used to sell a jel and and a flan case and you just stuffed it full of of your favourite fruit.

Personally raspberries and loganberries are my absolute first choice.

As a youngster my mother used to make a christmas cake in September that doubled as a birthday cake on New Years Eve.

In the days when almonds walnuts raisins and sultanas and brandy were dirt cheap.

We lived in Wales.

I ate the pies today, saving one for tomorrow wasn't an option.
