Linux/It Group Meeting - Christmas Edition

Featured Replies

Initiated by our fellow forum member Cloggie, we started back in October to have regular meetings in Bangkok area [1][2]. It all started around linux and F/OSS but in fact, many different topics were discussed. At the moment, we're a group of 4/5 nerds nice people who like to meet around a (few) pint(s) and laptops.

Tomorrow (15th of Dec.) will be the last meeting before Christmas so everyone will get free laptops and we'll all be happy to welcome and meet new people, whatever your background, the operating system you're using, as long as you like Internet, computers, communication, technology and bubbles made from barley.

@Cloggie, sorry I opened a new topic but I guess there's more traffic in this section.

Thanks Urandom,

Just wanted to write a new post for tomorrow but you were first...

Anyway, yes I will be there tomorow again all the way from 'The pearl of the Eastern Seaboard" - also know as Pattaya

Hope to see you all again and hopefully also a few new faces.

You want to join / attend the IT-meeting, when you enter Soi 8 - the restaurant - just look for laptops on the table :D

Cheers,

Cloggie

when will any of you nerds, ermmm, I mean, NICE GUYS, start offering LINUX group-tuition to Compu-Morons ? :whistling:

Can start tonight on my laptop running Mint 10 which 'almost' looks like Windows XP

Linux as easy as it can be..

Cheers,

M.

No problem, its very casual. Just turn up and I'm sure we can help out.

(Almost) Wish I was there to get with some fellow Linux nerds/geeks/gents/dudes. Here on Phuket we have a very active computer group, organized by Woody Leonhard, with meeting every Sunday 10-12. But it's almost exclusively Windows, even though I keep interjecting comments about the wonders of a real OS. So will be with you folks in ethereal if not corporal self. Note the (almost) is due to BKK, not the the topic nor the people <grin>.
