I get this message frequently: groovenew.dll missing

If I check on Google, there are many places offering to download, but when it comes to the final crunch, they ask for anything between $25 to $50.

There must be an easier and cheaper way. Assistance appreciated.

Thanks, Supernova... however when I try Method 1.. diagnostic test.. shows no problem.

With Method 2,

# Click the name of the Microsoft Office Edition 2007 that you want to change, and then click Change.

# Click the option Repair, and then click Continue.

I get to click Change but do not get the Repair option... just sits still.

The software is the Enterprise version...

Is there somewhere where I can just download the dll and just put it in the correct Folder?

Try removing the Groove application and re-installing it if you use it.

Find it in add/remove programs - microsoft office - change

If you do not use Groove, that is not in an office collaboration setup, then I would just remove it completely. I had to remove it a few months ago as it interfered with Macromedia Dreamweaver making it randomly crash.

If you do remove it here are the steps > Removing MS Office Groove

Hmmm, Change should bring up the MS Office installer. Maybe it's completely busted, try uninstalling then re-installing from the CD.

Funny one this because it is a patch .dll, not an original installation file. On Win 7 64 bit my copy is located here: C:\Windows\Installer\$PatchCache$\Managed\00002109AB0000000000000000F01FEC\12.0.4518

This could possibly a problem with windows update, as previously advised do a full uninstall of Office, delete any C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office folders and try a re-install and then apply all windows updated pertaining to MS Office.

Helps if you post your O/S and SP version if this does not work.

All the best
