Hi Jaidee - welcome to Club 1215!

You got free cooling fans?? I'm bummed about that! I didn't get free cooling fans!

My computer does produce noticeable heat in the same place, and can feel it blowing out of the vents on the left side, especially when I am using it in my lap while driving to work. Never gave it a second thought though, because the Atom processor is definitely cooler than all of my previous pentium based laptops.

Yours is the Atom processor, right? As opposed to the AMD variant..?

I like the nifty little app called Core Temp. Get it here for free. It will show you your current temperatures for each core, as well as the max. Always seems to be about 30-32 C, but seen it go as high as 40. Core temp also says that the max is 100C. My pentium laptops used to run in the 50's, which was seriously uncomfortable to type on, but didn't have any performance issues.

Try this app, and unless your readings are grossly higher, or the computer is shutting down inadvertently to protect itself, I wouldn't worry about it.

Edit - to fix stuff. Typed this reply before realizing there was a second page of other replies.
