Banana Boat blamed for death of Indian Tourist off the coast of Pattaya

PATTAYA: -- A banana boat ride in the waters off Larn Island is being blamed for the death of a female Indian tourist. The incident occurred on Wednesday Afternoon at Tawaen Beach on the Island, which is located 4kms off the coast of Pattaya. Mrs. Ratnamala Pradip Korad aged 51 was one of 5 people on the inflatable banana boat and the boat operator was preparing to overturn the boat close to the shoreline as the trip had come to a close.

The article doesn't say if she was wearing a life vest, which would have most likely saved her. I'm sorry to hear of yet another tourist drowning here in Thailand...

Another drowning of tourists and a tragedy for her family.

If the boat was going to fast when he did his exit flip over and if the water was to shallow or she hit it hard that could knock her out first and then she could have drowned , but I am sure the this incident would be fully investigated by the Thai police.

I do hope that was a misprint.

No charges against the boat operator, if this happened in the UK the HSE would have been all over the Boat Operators, when prosecuting they go to the top, they probably would have gone for the mayor who allows these untrained monkeys to operate unregulated.:whistling:

Could easily have bumped heads when the banana boat was overturned.

I tried it once. Banged into the other riders pretty hard when the driver tipped us.
