Woodstain Or Polyurethane For The New Floor

Recommended Posts

Hi! We are about to build a small wooden house and will use new mai daeng for the flooring, both inside and outside veranda which will be under a roof. For best protection and keeping the natural color for a long time, what do you suggest? Clear woodstain indoors and deckingstain outdoors? Or polyurethane? Or maybe both?

Thankful for your advice and suggestions!

I'm interested same like you . Personally i thought mai deang can stay as it is , it is very hard and durable wood . For enhancing color and keeping color i think linseed or tungoil were the ones to look for . But like i said .. i'm interested to hear from others . :jap:

This is the best info in Thailand about Mai dang Mai kang & other assorted teaks from one of Thai visa wood masters. Lots of good reading material on finishing & preserving teak.

If the link gets removed which I doubt it will look under local wood varieties Technocrazy is the poster.
