Nightclubs, Discos In Pattaya

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Brand new to the forum. I did a bit of searching through the old messages, but I wonder if any Pattaya experts might have some recommendations for good nightclubs, discos.

I'll be visiting Pattaya for a short time, but for evening entertainment, I'm more interested in dance clubs than farang beer bars. Any feedback on the scene at Hollywood, XZyte, Palladium? Where do the local Thais tend to hang out?

Thanks for any advice.

XZyte is quite popular venue by all sorts, but a good hang out for Thais as it (was) free (haven't been there for a year or two) If you go with a thai friend and do not have a valid thai ID, let them go first - you will save a Baht or two :D (as I said above, have not been there for a while) :D

Anyway, had a blast, good fun.. Even more if you speak the language.

Tonys - :D

Lucifer - :o

Hard Rock Cfe - :D

Hate to say it... B.Factory :D:D:D

Answer: Every where ! I suppose it depends on what you consider to be "local" Thais.

Every disco I've been to has been chocked full of Thais, local or otherwise.

The Blue Chili on # 3 road is a predominately Thai place. Live bands playing western music (mostly), serves food. (Hmmm, probably no relation to the Blues Factory).

Crasanova's (yes, Crasanova's). Again, mostly Thai, small place on #3 road, live local bands, food available.

Beer Hima on #3 road (noticing a trend here yet ?).

If you want to hang with the "locals", meet some and ask them where they like to go. I find a lot of the locals I know like to go to the underground karaoke bars when they get off work, or when other venues are closed.

Avoid anything on third road or any local thai hangout - the last thing they want to see is farang. All the girls in these places are for Asians only, preferably rich thai/japanese/korean etc.

Agree with most of said, but I frequent Tony's and I always have a good time, albeit kicked back at times, I find it a great night-cap after Lucifer's, etc, :D

Third Road has by far the best entertainment if you are looking for Thai's. New Bar/Disco's are beeing opened as fast as they can built currently. :o

And I have never had the feeling that we were not welcome.

Another one on the list of 3rd road is The Cottage both with Blue Chilly my favorites! :D .

Thank you to everyone for the information. Been to Pattaya once before--sorry it's not my #1 favorite destination, but since I visit BKK for work, Pattaya's a great place for an overnight get away for some scuba diving (although mediocre diving it's close).

Last time in Pattaya I checked out Xzyte at the advice of someone who had lived in Pattaya, and I had a great time there with some locals I met who took me to Beer Hima after Xzyte shut down.

Since I had a good time at Xzyte, I was wondering if there are other places worth checking out. It looks like I'll be checking out 3rd road.

Are the Blue Chilly, Cottage, etc. near each other? What part of 3rd road should I check out? In between Central and South Pattaya Roads? Are they easy to find?

The only time that I went to 3rd road, which was to visit Beer Hima, the entire road, including Beer Hima had the lights out since it was past the legal time for bars to stay open. I seem to remember some police stopping by and picking up a bribe in the dark.

Thanks

Weekends Only? Or Weeknights?

Forgot to ask. My schedule may force me to visit Pattaya during the week. I imagine that the Walking St. clubs are open and full during the week, but is this the case?

How about the 3rd St. clubs? If it's mostly locals, are they dead on weekdays?

Thanks,

Thunder

The newer area is between Pattaya Klang and Pattaya Nua on Sai Sam.

Thhe older places, like Xcyte, are South of Pattaya Klang.

As is Buffalo Bar, of course, which is much more entertaining than any disco!

Most of the Thais there are not local though... :o

My preferences are the Blue Chilli Pub and Crasanovas on Third Road.

Great food, great music, and the Thais seem to enjoy seeing the odd falung enjoying him/herself there too.

:D

Gotta watch yourself sometimes though... some of the chicks are pretty straightforward with their approaches if you're sitting alone whilst your GF/wife has gone to the hong narm... :D

Try Bale (spelling?) at 3rd road. Looks like a high end bara at Miami beach.

Good service, great deal of thais visits this place as well as foreigners.

Worth a try.

Located between Nua and Klang coming from Nua, right hand side, 200-300 mtrs before the fishing park.

Hmmm. Should I learn more about Buffalo Bar? :D Hey, very much appreciate all of the quick replies. It's very helpful information. Even if I don't have great luck, it's much better than flying blind.

Any more input on prices? And whether or not the 3rd St. places are happening on weekdays?

All of these places are open during the week... Monday's are usually fairly quiet though.

Prices?

If throughout the evening you buy a bottle of Johnny Walker Black Label or Chivas, a couple of buckets of ice, a dozen or so bottles of mixers (coke, soda etc), a meal (seafood) and some snacks (say enough for 4 people), the total bill at the end of the night would be about 3,000 baht.

It depends on how much you're likely to drink.

Thanks Jai Dee and everyone else for the input. It looks like I'll manage to have a good time during my few days in Pattaya. The last time I was in town I had a great time. It used to be easy to find late night fun. Given the government's crackdown on nightlife, it really helps to have some inside information on where to go late at night.

Thanks,

I would stay away from Beer Hima...they charge foreigners double the price for beer.

3 small tiger bottles cost me 450 baht...

stick with blue chillis or the cottage....they are more fairly priced....

Just want to thank everyone for the information. During my short two night stay in Pattaya, I managed to stop by many of the clubs mentioned by members.

The Cottage, Blue Chili, and Bitchy Pub are all located on one block of 3rd Street Sai Som. It was easy to check out all of them in one evening. It was sort of like a very mini-RCA in BKK. Mostly a Thai crowd with a few farang guys with Thai dates. Nice places, but way very crowded on Saturday night. Could barely make my way through the crowd. Overall pretty fun, but most of the people there are already in groups so not such a great place to meet people.

Also made it to Xzyte and the Palladium, which has been renamed the Palace. Xzyte was still packed and quite a bit of fun. The Palace was the least happening place. I think about half of the guests were Koreans on package tours.

Thanks to everyone for the advice on where to go.

If you fancy a laugh try Goldfingers Go Go, Beach Road end of Soi 7.

Massive competition for dancers now in Pattaya. Rumoured the top end Go Gos are paying 15,000 baht a month plus.

Goldfingers must be paying... 100 baht a month max...

Go see...

i know the owner of goldfingers, at least i do if it's the same guy who owned it up until last may. he also owned the now shut pigalles a gogo on walking street. i daresay he's a nice enough guy...then how he run his business is up to him...admittedly, i only visited goldfingers a handful of times in all

Yeah, i'm not keen on Go Go's, i only go in cos they've got Air Con, honestly :o:D

Boring - unless its Polos - me and my gf have a good laff when an unaware lad gets pulled on stage and he doesnt have a clue what they are up to. :D

Classrooms - bit funny as well. Dancers scramble for ping pong balls when you throw them out on stage. (get dosh for each one) :D
