Children of all ages are welcome to join the fun.

PHUKET: The ninth annual QSI International School Phuket Fun Run will be held at Bang Wad Dam in Kathu on Saturday.

Organizers expect more than 200 children and 50 adults to compete.

Students from all schools in Phuket are welcome to take part and trophies will be awarded to the top three schools finishing on the highest points.

All races are open to the public. There are five categories in which to enter to suit every level of ability and fitness. Entry costs 100 baht per student and 200 baht per adult.

Registration for both the individual and the team races will start at 8am, followed by the first two races of the day, both over one kilometer.

The 6.5km individual fun run will follow, which this year will include the team challenge, open to businesses, NGOs and social teams.

There is also a 13km run for more serious athletes.

The Colin Hill band will provide the entertainment with blues/rock music, while “Phuket’s Biggest Loser” Gary Holden will act as MC.

Garry starred on popular weight loss program Asia’s Biggest Loser and will be hoping to promote sports and a healthy lifestyle to both students and adults.

He will be competing in the 6.5km run.

There will be tents for shade and plenty of food and drink available, plus a bucking bull ride and jumping castle for kids of all ages.

A raffle will be held with prizes worth over 250,000 baht to be won, and a silent auction with prizes worth 200,000 baht.

The Phuket Gazette and PGTV are sponsors of this event.
