I have put in both my Thai Will and my UK will that I want to be cremated in Thailand. However, I have also added that this assumes I die in Thailand.

I have also added that if I die in another country, when I am traveling ie: trip back to UK or maybe a holiday to Hong Kong etc..., then I would rather be cremated, or whatever the local custom is, where I die.

I certainly don't want my family wasting a lot of money flying my dead body around the world to bury/cremate it that's for sure.

Still, if I have to be shipped off somewhere, then there should be more than enough money from my savings/insurance etc... to cover the cost.

Is there a farlang funeral company in LOS. A friend of mine recently arrived here is interested in starting one ?

He could open offices right under high rise condos with balconies to keep transport costs down.

The wife of a deceased friend stated that the bill for sending him up the chimney at the big wat on Pattaya Tai came to 40k THB. My wife has agreed to put me in the back of the pick-up, leg it to our village outside Lomsak and have the deed done for 3K. I have specified no chanting avaricious monks, but make sure that she has enough coins for the gas meter.

I like your plan

A great way to go !

I went to that Chula uni hospital as soon as I retired in BKK years ago and carried that donor card with me at all times.

But now my TGF wants nothing of it and she'll take of the cremation herself.

Note that the card is valid only for BKK and vicinity. Too expensive for them to go and get you in the provinces.

Living in KhonKaen my wife would have to get my body to Chula ASAP having precleared their acceptance, there are things like Rabies and HIV that means they would not accept, however cancer is not a reason to be rejected

No doubt father in law will take me on the moped and feed to the pigs !!

Actually she has checked out with mini van driver and can be done, body must be delivered with 48 hrs of death

The teaching hospital in KK accept body donations.I knew an old guy who donated himself to them. When he died they kept the body at the nearest hospital to where he lived that had a mortuary. In his case, Nang Rong. They then used the body for about 12 months before finally disposing of what was left at a ceremony held at Suranaree University of Techknowledgey Hospital, just outside of Korat. On final cremation the family are invited to the ceremony. Job done.
