The reality is that as much as all of us want to make the Phuket taxi, transport, and tuk tuk situation as rational, fair, reliable and cost efficient as we see everywhere else in the world, and in many parts of Thailand; it just ain't gonna happen.

That mafia controls with an iron fist. There will never be any compromise with our farang dreams as long as we hold no power over the outcomes. And, as long as tourists keep coming to Phuket, we hold no power....they will get away with whatever they want.

My two cents..., as a ten year resident of Phuket, who left for gentler pastures elsewhere in Thailand two years ago.
