How To Measure The Resources A Website Takes To Load

Featured Replies

There's a website that I think is the reason for Firefox to freeze for 5-10 seconds, when starting FF up with few other websites at the same time. How to measure the resources a specific website needs, to find out if this site is the reason ? It's about dating site named thaifriendlydotcom.

And how to measure the details of the internet connection of a (this) website, and can I set the properties of this connection ? (such as autorenew yes/no/how frequent)

Thanks !

That site loads pretty quickly for me. But it is fairly hefty (420K) and has tons of photos on it which will generate a lot of requests and response lags, so if the connection between you and it is not so good (for whatever reason) I'd guess that's probably why.

pagespeed is a firefox plugin that will tell you what you need to know.

If you want to see how your page loads/performs from multiple global locations try webpagetest.org

Fantastic free tool that can help you optimise page load.
