I'm not very technical and only recently taken an interest in Photography, but was I so pleased with this shot and I would like to know what others think ?

I think it is really well done.

I can't think of anything to criticize. This will be a good wall hanger.

It is well done in terms of sharpness and focus. If you look at the edges of the flower parts in the upper left side you will see some blue fringing which you can remove when you open the photo in Camera Raw by going to the lens correction window and under Chromatic Aberration moving the slider to the left or right until the fringing disappears. Even if you didn't shoot raw you can still open it in Camera Raw to do this. Good Shot!
