Hello

I will be arriving in Thailand on the 31st of March with a 60 day tourist visa. I will then go to immigration to extend my tourist visa by 30 days, which I have worked out to expire on the 28th of June, does this mean I can leave Thailand on the 28th of June and come back on the 29th of June to activate my second entry.

Do these dates also seem to add up?

Thankyou for your quick response.

Jules

If your maths are correct yes you can.

Edit.

I agree with your maths.

Apply for the extension a few days before the 60 days are up.

You can return to Thailand on 28th June if you wish.

As said below make sure the Visa is still valid. B)

It depends when you buy your TR visa - you have to look at the expiry date (printed on or written on the Visa) and re enter Thailand BEFORE (not ON) that date or your TR visa will of expired

I trust you mean a two entry tourist visa? If yes you need to consider the issue date and validity period of that visa. To use a second entry the visa itself must still be valid. In many cases this will only be a period of 90 days from date of issue at Consulate.

Thanks for the response :)

I will apply for the TV approx 10 days before I leave on the 31st, im looking at either getting 2 or 3 entries, so I definitely should be fine to book the 1st 90 day flight out of Thailand... right? Its a little confusing.

Cheers

PS thanks for doing the math, I triple checked and got someone else to check to :)

Actually it has been years since I have seen any report of a person not being allowed to enter on that written date. It seems to be a case of bad English and not the meaning that had intended and so many have read it wrong (most visitors are not native English speakers) that they allow until the end of the day printed on the visa.

So how can I book my flight if I havent got my Visa yet... I have to wait and then the flights will be more expensive, oh well. The reason im booking my flight is because I dont want the airline to give me a hard time about not having a return flight, which ive been told they might and ive also heard the consulate in Brisbane, Australia may also want to see a flight out of Thailand before issuing the visa... catch 22.

No need to book flight out.

With a visa you can go on a one way ticket.

You can take any visa run company to a border for a cheap price.

I rang the airline the other day and said that they would be looking for a flight out of Thailand, and if I would have it in writing that I dont need a flight out of Thailand with a Visa... Argh, so if I get there and they want proof, where do i say to look?

You only need a flight out if you don't have a visa and intend to come on 30 day visa exemption stamp.

I have just looked at the consulates webpage (Brisbane & Sydney) and it says i need to show a return flight into Thailand for the second entry... I dont understand why this is...
