Hi! Just planning a field trip to myanmar, while the budget 's very limited... I 'm wondering besides Rangon YMCA any other cheap place to stay in rangon and how I can find a room/flat to rent at local price in Rangon... in additional, it;s said that YMCA still has domitory available at other address other than down town (263 Mahabandoola Rd ), but only accept local myanmar travellers, is that true?as ASEAN national, can I apply to stay YMCA dormitory? on the other hand, Rangon YMCA's decent place to learn burmese kick boxing.. If there's any forum member/reader has a vacant room/flat/house in Rangon,do inform me.... Finally I 'd like to know where I can get best exchange rate for evil red china RMB /HK dollar/euro/phillipine peso in Rangon, in which market? which authorised money changer?possible to cash in gold to myanmar Kyat? a bien tot

I don't believe the Y still has dormitories. It used to in the 70s and 80s but sometime in the 90s the policy was to let foreigners stay only in shared twin rooms for around USD15. I hadn't heard that foreigners couldn't stay there, although few do these days.
